Hinton St George Wine Club welcomes all wine lovers to share their enjoyment of good things vinous. Wine Club is run informally (there is no official membership or constitution) and meets around 10 times a year. Members take it in turns to choose the wines, usually around 5 a time, and the member(s) organising decide what format they would like the evening to take. We usually meet either in members’ houses or at Dorothy’s. January to June the meetings are usually the last Friday of the month, September to December the first Friday of the month. For more information or to join the email circulation, please email Emma Way on emmaeway@btinternet.com or speak to Janet Atkinson, Ali Peat, Terri Hurse or Jane Wheeler.
Hinton St George & District Gardening Club, as it is officially known, exists to ‘further the interests, knowledge and expertise of its members and the local community in all matters horticultural or garden oriented and to enhance the local environment for the enjoyment and wellbeing of all’. Membership for 2017-18 (to 31 March) is £5 per household. Events are held irregularly, and include garden visits, talks, and outings as the spirit moves someone to organise it. New members are welcome at any time. Please contact Membership Secretary Emma Way if you would like to join, or see one of the other committee members: Judy Craig (Chair), Rosamund Annetts (Minutes Sec), Jane Wheeler (Treasurer) and Joy Benson. Membership also confers the significant benefit of a Castle Gardens Club Group Gold Card (discounts!).
