We have a page showing several local walks and for additional walks further afield we recommend www.shropshiregreatoutdoors.co.uk
Picklescott is ideally placed for access to Ride UK routes and the many miles of bridleways which criss-cross the Long Mynd. On a clear day the Long Mynd offers spectacular views over the Wrekin, the Lawley, Caer Caradoc, the Clees, the Malverns, the Stiperstones and the Welsh Hills. Within 5 minutes of leaving the car park at Picklescott Village Hall – where you can park your trailer or horse box all day for a modest contribution to the Village Hall – riders can pick up a Ride UK route which will take them out onto the Long Mynd in under an hour.
Under the umbrella of the Ride UK project outline plans for ten circular routes have been compiled with help from members of the Long Mynd & District Bridleways Association.
The majority of the proposed routes link directly with the Jack Mytton Way Shropshire’s premier long distance bridleway which crosses the Long Mynd and many of the routes can be linked with each other.

Several local market towns have a number of circular cycle routes from each town. If you fancy more of a challenge, the 185 mile Shropshire Cycleway goes round the perimeter of the county, or the Long Mynd has some excellent mountain bike downhill routes, along with Hopton woods and Eastridge woods for mountain bike trails.
